Rabbi Shimon Feder
is a founder of the Jewish Education Center of S. Florida. He was ordained by the Rabbinical Seminary of America (Chofetz Chaim Yeshiva) in Queens, NY in March, 2003. After receiving his ordination, he worked for the Jewish Heritage Center of Queens & Long Island in the area of Jewish outreach and education. The innovative Fun Hebrew School program, which he headed, received national recognition at the annual AJOP convention in 2005. He was also in charge of building the Young Jewish Professionals group. Among his other duties, he served as assistant Rabbi of Heritage Center Shabbat services in the main sanctuary and ran its explanatory services. When the Feder family moved here in 2005, he brought the Fun Hebrew School, as well as his enthusiasm and creativity to S. Florida. In addition to his work with children, Rabbi Feder currently teaches many adults weekly through classes and one-on-one study sessions.
In addition to his rabbinic ordination, he holds an ordination in litigation policy and a B.S. in accounting from Touro College. While pursuing his studies, he has taken education courses, prepared students for Bar Mitzvah, and served as Baal Koreh (reader of the Torah) for several congregations while in New York.
Rabbi Feder grew up in Chicago, IL, and attended WITS Yeshiva HS in Milwaukee, Wis. He is married to Nechama, and they are proud parents of Moshe, Riva, Malka, and Avraham.

Rabbi Avi Meth
Originally from Silver Spring, MD, Rabbi Meth received his Bachelors Degree in computer science from Queens College and his ordination from the Rabbinical Seminary of America. After his many years of study, he became a coordinator in Providence, RI for a Jewish high-school which afforded him the opportunity both to teach teenagers and to give presentations to adults. His experience ranges from running events to running websites, but his true joy is teaching Torah. In fact, Rabbi Meth currently teaches the largest Daf Yomi shiur (daily Talmud class) in South Florida at the Young Israel of Deerfield Beach. But, despite his knowledge of advanced Talmud, Rabbi Meth's warm and friendly personality, explanation abilities, and teaching techniques make his discussion groups for the JEC exciting for the intermediate or beginner student as well. He is married to Tamar, and they are the proud parents of Shmuel, Sarah, Esther, Chava, Menucha, and Yitzchak.

In addition to his teaching skills, Rabbi Wealcatch is the administrator of the JEC, and his responsibilities include running retreats, managing young Jewish professionals' events, boosting enrollment in our Hebrew School, and organizing our Jewish Unity Live event. Rabbi Wealcatch is married to Miriam from Harrisburg, PA and they are the proud parents of Yisrael, Zahara, and Tehilla.
