RABBI MORDECHAI ROSENBERG
Rabbi Mordechai Rosenberg has a Master’s
Degree in Rabbinic and Talmudic Studies. He
joined the Pittsburgh Kollel in 1988 and
received Rabbinical ordination from Rabbi
Shaul Kagan, zt”l. As a Community Scholar of
the Kollel, he teaches a skill-building Talmud
class and has lectured in the popular Being a
Mensch series. He enjoys the Mussar works of
Rabbi Wolbe, and has taught a variety of
subjects in Jewish scholarship at Hillel
Academy over the years. Rabbi Rosenberg serves
the southwestern Pennsylvania community as a
mohel. He plays a mean clarinet and saxophone
but admits that in a theoretical moment of
free time he would enjoy taking a nap.
Rabbi Shlomo Berelowitz
Rabbi Shlomo Berelowitz grew up in Brooklyn,
New York, and still remains a loyal New York
Yankees fan, despite his two years in
Pittsburgh. He is an alumnus of the Mir
Yeshiva in Jerusalem and Beth Medrash Govoha
in Lakewood, NJ, where he received a Bachelor
of Talmudic Studies and Smicha/Rabbinic
ordination. He joined the Kollel two years
ago, and his popularity continues to grow.
This can be partly accredited to his friendly
smile and his care and concern for all of his
students. Rabbi Berelowitz has become our
Bible teaching specialist after last year's
successful Breakneck through the Bible series.
He has adjusted very well to his move to
Pittsburgh, and enjoys taking his kids to all
the family-friendly parks and attractions
Pittsburgh has to offer.
Rabbi Yosef Eisen Rabbi Yosef Eisen and his family
have lived in Pittsburgh for over 20
years-long enough that some people (though not
all) are willing to consider them
Pittsburghers. He has been teaching for many
years at the Kollel and at local Jewish day
schools and high schools. His specialty of
course is Jewish History, having authored a
comprehensive and illuminating book on that
subject titled Miraculous Journey. Originally
from Brooklyn, New York, Rabbi Eisen studied
for many years at the Yeshiva of Staten
Island, where he received his Rabbinical
ordination. He is well known for his
brilliance and phenomenal memory, particularly
of historical facts. He and his wife are also
famous for their hospitality, hosting numerous
guests every Shabbos and festival. Not as well
known are Rabbi Eisen's talented chess
playing, interest in current events, and his
European travels.
