About the teachers:

RABBI DOVID APPELROUTH the Educational Director of the Temmy Latner Forest Hill Jewish Centre, received his Bachelors of Talmudic law and Rabbinical ordination in Jerusalem. His weekly classes cover a wide range of Jewish topics ranging from contemporary issues to Jewish philosophy and prayer. Rabbi Appelrouth’s schedule includes lunch and learns, one-on-one sessions, and snow ball fights. When he finds the time and the climate, Rabbi A. enjoys water skiing, photography, and hiking.
RABBI ELIE KARFUKEL has been the pioneering rabbi for over nine years at the Temmy Latner Forest Hill Jewish Centre. He spends the majority of his day with a Starbucks coffee in hand, expanding the orbit of a non-judgemental Judaism to the locals of the Lower Forest Hill Village. With a B.A. and an M.A. in education, he takes great pleasure in counseling, teaching, and cheering for his home town New York Yankees.
Class Information:
Location: Temmy Latner Forest Hill Jewish Centre 446 Spadina Road, Suite 206 Classes: Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:30 P.M. Each weekly class consists of two 50 minute classes with a break in between the two. Each semester of The Forest Hill Institute of Torah is approximately 7 weeks in length and will pause for calendar holidays. Registration Information:
Yearly Tuition: $180 for one year $50 non-refundable registration fee. (Applied toward tuition when you pay remainder) Registrants are not committed to the entire 3-year program when enrolling. Call for information on scholarships. Special Double Registrant Rate: $300 for two attendees registering together. Any two people who register together are eligible for the special rate. The two need not be spouses or relatives. Just get a friend to join up with you, and you both get the special rate – you both pay only $150 each. Make sure to check off the “Special Rate” box below and write in the name of the person who is co-registering. The second person must also send in a separate registration form.
